Perfect for babies first food or toddler snack!
Lasts 3 months in the freezer, and 3 days in the fridge makes 12 Infantino squeeze packs
What you will need:
- About 8 apples (sweet), or more depending on how much you want to make
- 1 TBSP Cinnamon
- Steamer, I use an
All-Clad Stainless Steel Steamer Cookware, 5-Quart, Silver, great investment if your like me and enjoy making your own baby/ toddler food.
- If your like me and make your own squeeze packs for your little one, then you need this
- Infantino Squeeze Station from amazon it’s only $25 and is so easy to do
Wash and core each apple, ( Easy Grip Apple Corer Slicer) place in steamer, sprinkle cinnamon turn on high heat. Boil for about 20 mins, stirring half way through and cool until apples are soft and tender. Remove from heat, let cool then transfer to blender and pour some of the cooking water from the pot in blender for smooth consistency.
Note: some people like a chunkier consistency and that is fine, but if you are using the Infantino Squeeze Station, then you need the applesauce as smooth as possible, otherwise you will have a huge mess!
And there you have your first homemade apple sauce. The best part is you can now use the apple sauce to make a base for all kinds of different squeeze packs for your little ones! Using the applesauce as a base is a great way to sneak in some veggies that your little ones will love! My sons favorite is applesauce, with steamed peas and pears blended in. Whatever ingredients you use I am confident your little one will love it!
